Walking and Walkability
The Walking Journal was initially developed as a research tool and learning companion for a Slow Memory COST Action-funded workshop entitled Walkability Between Past and Present in Prague, September 11-14, 2024.
The essence of The Walking Journal is dynamic and adaptable, tailored to the cultural and historical context of an urban setting. Through narrative and creative mapping methods, the Walking Journal guides researchers to undertake body-centered, sensory explorations that capture the diverse ways they engage with the past and present of an urban landscape, particularly through walking.
This Edition engages with Czech literary inspiration and unfolds the Cres Manifesto for Slow Memory scholarship to encourage the participants of the MSA conference Prague 2025 towards slow and reflective presence, thought and research.
This Walking Journal is adapted and graphically designed by Diana Salahieh (PhD candidate, Czech Technical University in Prague).
